IULM University was founded in 1968. It stands at the fore in the sphere of academic training for the sectors of Communication and Languages. Teaching staff also includes managers and professionals from various fields, thus fostering close contact with the world of media and communication, professional services, business, public administration and cultural organizations. Teaching is done through lectures, classroom activities and case studies, continuous assessment, internships in Italy and abroad and through international student exchanges so as to reinforce both individual and team-working skills. Students have access to an innovative learning environment, equipped with the latest technologies and to a large library featuring the most updated systems. IULM University has about 70 LLP/Erasmus partner
universities and has defined bilateral agreements with several non-European universities (in Australia, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Peru, Russia and the USA). Since 2001, IULM offers a two-year Master in Journalism, the only Italian school of journalism that approaches the subject from two different perspectives. While offering the experience and expertise of IULM University, it also allows students to integrate their academic studies with field experience at Media set multimedia and digital editorial office.
At the end of the Master’s course, students are able to sit for the examination to become a professional journalist. The Master’s is designed to train young journalists capable of working in the different professional and technological environments the job market will offer them: newspapers and magazines, television or radio news and current affairs programs, the Web, blogs and multimedia channels.
IULM University recently participated, among other funded projects, to Tempus Project eMEDia (2013- 2017) and currently to Creative Europe Project “Teaching European History through Cinema (TEHC)” and H2020 Project “Urbinat”.
PAgES aims at contributing to the modernization of the HE in Libya through a bottom-up approach for the design and pilot of a Master Course in Cross-Media Journalism.
