The Faculty of Arts & Media at University of Tripoli was established in the seventies. The study system in the college consists of eight semesters, and the college consists of eight departments:
1. Visual Arts Department
2-Theatre Arts Department
3- Fine Arts Department
4- Music Arts Department
5- Media Arts Department
The Media Department divided into: 1-Press Journalism division 2-Broadcast (Radio and TV) Division 3- Public Relations Division.(534 students divided into: First year 293 Press Journalism 61 Broadcast 55 Public relation 125).
After March 2014,UOT foresee the establishment of the media lab (ML). The idea of ML came as a result of the urgent need for the students of the Faculty of Arts and Media for the practical aspect of their knowledge. The idea of establishing ML was proposed by the Institute for War and Peace and funded by the British Embassy. The lab contains 15 computer and 12-recording device in addition to 15 camera (Video and photo) and control room with sound and image mixer, in addition to computers and all the hardware in the laboratory and devices in the studio room, and there are (Work Station) for editing and working in general. Every student can use 100 hours of training in the process of each school year. From April 2014 to January 2015 ML students produced around 300 production contents between Bulletins, programs, talk shows, reports, features etc.
